The first specialized exhibition for the dairy and beverage industry christened Nigeria Dairy & Beverage Expo (NDBE) and dairy innovation workshop is scheduled to hold in December.

An initiative of the National Dairy Development Promotion (NDDP), this presentation is put together in partnership with NAFDAC and Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON). NDDP is a private sector driven project to complement the proposed Federal Government of Nigeria National Dairy Policy and will work to facilitate developmental programmes through conferences, exhibitions, data collections, publications and innovation workshops to boost the milk yields, consumption, advocacy and investment for the industry.

Also in partnership with different research and developmental organisations, NDBE is compiling facts, datas, and figures for the first Nigeria Dairy and Beverage Report (NDBR). The 2019 publication will be available in the first quarter of 2020 and it will serve as a rich source of information for the previous year (2019) for industry stakeholders, government agencies and interested investors.

Nigeria’s performance in milk production currently lags behind other countries. India is emerging as one of the largest producers of Dairy with an increasing economic profile. Since March 15, 2012, the World Bank has been funding a 7 years dairy development project in India which is scheduled to end by November 29, 2019 to the tune of US$ 453.90 million. The development also offers a pathway out of poverty for many livestock farmers and will increase milk production.
